Getting Started
What is ShadowPulse?
ShadowPulse is a Chrome extension that enhances your Bitcointalk.org browsing experience with community-powered voting, live Bitcoin statistics, and comprehensive analytics. It adds a non-intrusive toolbar to Bitcointalk.org pages without modifying the forum content.
How do I install ShadowPulse?
Simply visit the Chrome Web Store and click "Add to Chrome." Once installed, navigate to any Bitcointalk.org page and you'll see the ShadowPulse toolbar appear at the bottom of the screen.
Identity & Restore Code
What happens if I reload the page or reinstall the extension?
ShadowPulse uses a unique restore code system to preserve your identity and voting history. When you first install the extension, a random UUID is generated and stored locally. This allows you to:
- Reload pages without losing your votes
- Switch browsers or devices by copying your restore code
- Reinstall the extension without starting over
How do I find my restore code?
Click the "Settings" button in the ShadowPulse toolbar. Your restore code is displayed at the top and can be copied to clipboard or saved. Keep it safe — it's the key to your voting identity!
Can I use ShadowPulse on multiple devices?
Yes! Copy your restore code from Settings on one device, then paste it into Settings on another device. Your voting history and identity will sync across both installations.
Voting System
How does voting work?
When viewing a topic or post on Bitcointalk.org, the ShadowPulse toolbar displays voting buttons (1-5). Click a number to rate the content. Your vote is immediately submitted and the community average score is updated in real-time.
Can I vote on users/profiles?
No. ShadowPulse only allows voting on topics and posts, not user profiles. This helps maintain objectivity and focuses on content quality rather than personal opinions about members.
Can I change my vote?
Yes! Simply click a different rating (1-5) and your vote will be updated instantly. You can change your vote as many times as you like.
What's the difference between "effective" and "desired" votes?
ShadowPulse uses a vote matrix system to ensure balanced ratings:
- You can cast 1 vote of (2 or 4) for every 2 votes of (3)
- You can cast 1 vote of (1 or 5) for every 2 votes of (2 or 4)
Your desired vote (soft highlight) is what you clicked. Your effective vote (bright highlight) is what's currently registered. If your desired vote doesn't meet the matrix requirements yet, the system remembers it and will automatically move it to your effective vote once you've cast enough qualifying votes.
🎯 Easter Egg: How can I see my vote matrix status?
There's a hidden feature! Open Settings from the ShadowPulse toolbar and look for a clickable link in the diagnostics section. It will take you to a detailed report showing your personal vote matrix statistics, including how many votes of each type you have remaining. Power users love tracking their voting balance!
Spam & Vote Manipulation
How does ShadowPulse prevent spam voting?
ShadowPulse uses multiple safeguards to ensure authentic community ratings:
- One vote per member UUID (tied to your restore code)
- Vote matrix system prevents extreme rating abuse
- Server-side validation of all votes
- Rate limiting to prevent rapid-fire vote manipulation
Can someone create multiple accounts to manipulate votes?
While technically possible with multiple UUIDs, our spam detection algorithms monitor voting patterns. Accounts showing coordinated or unnatural voting behavior may be flagged and their votes weighted accordingly or excluded from rankings.
Privacy & Data Collection
What data does ShadowPulse collect?
ShadowPulse collects minimal data to function:
- Your member UUID (randomly generated, not tied to any personal info)
- Votes you submit (anonymous, tied only to UUID)
- Page view counts (to generate "Most Visited" reports)
We do NOT collect: Your IP address, browsing history, personal information, or any data outside of Bitcointalk.org.org.
Does ShadowPulse track my browsing?
No. ShadowPulse only activates on Bitcointalk.org.org pages and does not track your activity on any other website. Your data stays private.
Do you sell my data?
Absolutely not. We do not sell, share, or monetize user data. ShadowPulse is a community tool designed to enhance Bitcointalk.org, not a data collection service.
Features & Functionality
What is the Bitcoin price tracker?

How do I search for members?
Click the search icon in the toolbar or visit the Bitlist Search page. You can search for Bitcointalk.org usernames and view their voting statistics and activity.
What are the Reports?

- Highest Rated: Top-ranked topics, posts, and boards by vote scores
- Most Visited: Popular topics, posts, and boards by view count
Does ShadowPulse modify Bitcointalk.org pages?
